HOW TO ASSEMBLE AND INSTALL THE HD950WF WIFI ENABLED GARAGE DOOR OPENER.
The following steps are important when you want to install the HD950WF Wi-Fi enabled garage door opener that has a sectional door and a finished ceiling. Your installation model may be different. Before installing your garage door opener, be sure to read the instruction manual provided with your product. Pay special attention to all the safety information. Assemble the garage door opener then you install it, this will take you about 2 hours. Your garage door opener is packaged in one carton which contains the motor unit and all parts. Accessories vary depending on the garage door opener model purchased. Depending on your model, other accessories may be included with your garage door opener. Instructions for these accessories will be attached to the accessory and are not included in this manual. Save the carton and packing material until the installation and adjustment is complete. The images throughout this manual are for reference only and your product may look different.
The following steps will guide you on how to install the HD950WF Wi-Fi enabled garage door opener:
- Before beginning, check the balance of the garage door to make sure it moves freely and does not drill, (an unbalanced garage door may prevent your garage door opener from functioning properly)
- Your garage door should have vertical and horizontal reinforcements already installed; these provide support and help prevent damage to the door.
- Before you assemble your garage door opener. It is advisable to lay out the parts.
- Refer to your manual for the list of tools and additional items that you might need.
- The support bracket of the motor unit on the ceiling is not provided, light bulbs are also not provided.
- Begin by placing your garage door opener on protected abroad and setting it 10 feet away from the garage door.
- To assemble the rail, carefully remove the door arm and the hanging bracket parts.
- Lay off the rail sections on the floor, with the taperdence facing towards the garage door.
- The front rail section, with the window goes on the door end of the rail.
- Make sure the cut out rail tag is on top.
- Slide the taperdence off the rails into the larger rails.
- Place he ail on top of packing materials and the motor unit will help with the assembly.
- At the motor unit end of the rail, insert the u-bracket with the flat side damn.
- Push firmly until it reaches the stops. You can use a mallet if need be.
- Insert the protection bolt making sure not to over tighten.
- Insert the trolley making sure the release lever points towards the motor unit.
- Remove the bolts from the top of the motor unit.
- Use the bolts to attach the rail.
- When manning the u-bracket, hand tighten the bolts and do not use power tools.
- Slide the trolley assembly towards the motor unit.
- Pass a hole on the rail.
- Then insert a screw driver into the hole.
- Put the belt through the window front rail before installing the pulley.
- The rib side of the belt should be in contact with the pulley.
- Secure the pulley in place with the provide hardware.
- Use a flat head screw driver to lift out the cut out the rail tag to a 90 degree angle.
- Put the belt onto the trolley.
- Pull the other end of the belt, until the trolley rests against the screw driver.
- Extend the belt and wrap around the sprocket on the motor unit.
- Make sure the belt is not twisted and the rib side is in contact with the sprocket.
- Connect the belt to the thread and shaft using the master link hardware.
- Remove the spring trolley nut and insert the thread and shaft through the hole on the trolley.
- Secure place by finger tightening the spring trolley nut.
- To set the spring, insert a flat head screw driver against the numbering slots and turn the nut with a wrench until the spring releases and snaps the nut ring against the trolley.
- Now that the belt is installed, you can remove the screwdriver from the rail.
- Complete the assembly by installing the sprocket cover.
- Your garage door opener is ready to install.
- Do not proceed with the installation until you have thoroughly read the all the instructions and safety information in the instruction manual
- The header bracket will be centered over the garage door, and fastened to a structural support.
NB: TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURIES AND POSSIBLE DEATH. Do not install the header bracket over drywall. The header bracket must be rigidly fastened to a structural support on the header wall or ceiling. Concrete anchors must be used if mounting the header bracket.
- If you have an already installed header bracket, use it if possible.
- Raise the garage door to the highest point of travel and make a mark 2 inches above this. Using a lever is helpful.
- With the door closed place the bottom of the header bracket on your mark, and then make marks for pilot holes.
- Be sure to refer to the instruction manual for the correct drilling size.
- Install the header bracket using the provided hardware.
- It’s now time to place the assembled garage door opener in position. You may find it easier to have a helper.
- Use a ladder to support the motor unit and a second ladder or a step stool to reach the header bracket.
- Connect the rail to the header bracket using the clevis-pin and secure the place with a ring.
- Open the garage door a 2*4 under the rail, this will put the motor unit at the correct height when installing a support bracket.
- If a properly installed support bracket is not already in place, you must supply one along with the hardware for fastening it to the structural supports in the ceiling.
NB: to avoid possible serious injuries from a falling garage door opener, fasten the support bracket securely to the structured support of the garage. Concrete anchors must be used if mounting any brackets into masonry.
- Place the support bracket in a place where it will be centered over the garage door opener.
- Measure the distance from the support bracket to the garage door opener.
- Measure and cut the hanging bracket.
- Connect the hanging bracket to the garage door opener and the support bracket.
- Remove the 2*4 and lower the garage door.
- Install the light bulbs.
- Thread the emergency release rope tough the handle and then tie the rope to the trolley making sure the handle is at least 6 feet off the ground.
NB: Horizontal and vertical reinforcements are needed for light weight garage doors, mostly made of fiberglass, aluminum or light steel. A horizontal reinforcement brace should be long enough to be secured to two or three vertical supports. A vertical reinforcement brace should be able to cover the height of the top panel.
- The horizontal and vertical reinforcement’s brass are put in place before installing the door bracket.
- The door bracket is centered under the header bracket. It’s attached to the vertical reinforcement brass on the top panel using the provided hardware.
- If there is a door bracket that had been properly installed, it may be easier to use that.
- The rolling trolley needs to be close to the garage door so that you can install the door arm.
- If you need to move it, just connect the trolley by pulling down the emergency release handle and slide the trolley towards the door.
- The door arm consists of a curve section and a straight section.
- Use the provided cleavers-pin to connect the straight section of the door arm to the trolley and the curved door arm to the bracket.
- Align the curved and straight arm so that they appear to be in position between one and two o’clock.
- Use the provided hardware to connect the two parts of the garage door arm.
NB: do not plug in garage door opener until the installation of the protector system has been completed. The protector system consists of safety reversed sensors which are mounted on each side of the garage door at floor levels.
- Safety reversing sensors are to be installed no more than 6 inches off the floor.
- Snap the sensor bracket on to the door track.
- Then mount the safety reversing sensors, using the provided will nut and bolt.
- If your garage door is not the crude wired for safety reversing sensors, follow the instructions for rounding the wires attached to the sensors.
- Follow the directions for wiring a safety reversing sensors to the motoring unit.
- Insert the white wire in the white connector, and the black wire in the gray connector.
- Install the door control. Following the directions in your instruction manual.
- Wire the door control to the motoring unit. Insert the white wire into the white connector and the red wire in the red connector.
- It’s time to plug in your garage door opener.
- To complete your installation, align the safety reversing sensors, program the travel limits, test the protector system and perform the safety reversing test.

Your garage door opener is now installed.
